Beautiful tilt-shift stop animation videos from Keith Loutit
Posted in Photography, Video by Design RobotI’ve been a great admirer of Keith Loutit’s work for a while now and think you should all take a look at his videos if you’ve never heard of him before. Using a load of photographic trickery including tilt-shift and stop-motion animation, Keith manages to turn the everyday world into a captivating miniature version of itself. Mainly based around Sydney, Australia, Keith’s playful ‘Toy Town’ creations are really charming and nice. My personal favourite is Bathtub IV, filmed with the help of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (which depends entirely on the generosity and support of sponsors and the community to stay flying. Donations can be made at lifesaver.org.au/funding_challenge/donate.html)

Another great thing about Keith’s films are the music. Bathtub IV is set to ‘Clementine’ by Megan Washington which perfectly fits the mood of the video.

Designer vs Client – amusing viral video
Posted in Funny, Inspiration, Video by Design RobotWARNING – contains lots of hilariously naughty swear words!
The client//designer relationship can be a little fraught at times, especially with some of the downright stupid things clients say from time to time. This brilliant little viral vid hits the nail on the head and manages to cram in so many design related clichés graphics bods will have heard and can instantly relate to. Very funny stuff that is guaranteed to get any graphic designer rolling around floor in fits of giggles.
“Tell me the size and I don’t mean b*stard columns…give me f*cking millimeters or b*stard inches!” Oh….too true indeed!
